PURPLE HAZE-THE NYC MUSIC EDITION

My neccessary fuel...(the coffee not the cannabis!)

I'm feeling like the sky's the limit today...

Window Shopping at Guitar Center on 14th Street...

Meatpacking District...definitely NOT how I remember it as a little girl growing up on West 11th Street!
Bookstore owned by Marc Jacobs on Bleecker Street...

Bikes are the preferred mode of transportation these days in the Village and throughout most of the city...
Fashion Designer and founder of Studio Samuel Foundation, Tamara Horton..
Please check out this significant non-profit that helps empower women in Ethiopia. You can shop for cool clothes and accessories knowing that everything you purchase is improving the quality of life for these women and helping save lives. The fashion line launches this September!
New York Designer is awesome if you want to shop for Indie Labels from NYC and Beyond!

Today I'm doing the makeup at Electric Lady Studios on West 8th Street for a Look Book to showcase the clothing and accessories for SSF...(that's me on the left, Tamara, center and Chris Newburg (Hair Stylist) on the right...

Electric Lady is an iconic recording Studio once owned by Jimi Hendrix...

This graffiti on the rooftop was painted by Jimi Hendrix, himself!

Shoot photographer..Christian DeDrama
Tamara is so damn cool.

Our model, Mariah was a doll to work with...
I used a very sheer HD foundation on the model so that her freckles would shine through.  Her eyeshadows are all from Stila, Lipstick is Make Up For Ever.
Even the bathroom at the Studio is so Rock'n'Roll!  Purple Velvet  Curtains..
and music books to peruse!  I can't help but wonder if Hendrix peed here!
The lobby is filled with photographs of the numerous famous musicians who have recorded here...
I noticed that Julian Casablancas was there today with his band, The Strokes...and as you can see, I nearly had one!

 Oh yah, I did.
A very talented crew and a day to remember...
See you soon!
